NOTE 1: Basis Of
Presentation
The accompanying interim
unaudited consolidated condensed financial statements of EnerSys
(the “Company”) have been prepared in accordance with
accounting principles generally accepted in the United States for
interim financial information and with the instructions to Form
10-Q and Article 10 of Regulation S-X. Accordingly, they do not
include all the information and notes required for complete
financial statements. In the opinion of management, the unaudited
consolidated condensed financial statements include all
adjustments, consisting of normal recurring accruals considered
necessary for the fair presentation of the financial position,
results of operations, and cash flows for the interim periods
presented. The financial statements should be read in conjunction
with the Consolidated Financial Statements and Notes thereto
included in the Company’s 2010 Annual Report on Form 10-K
(SEC File No. 001-32253), which was filed on June 1,
2010.
The Company reports interim
financial information for 13-week periods, except for the first
quarter, which always begins on April 1, and the fourth
quarter, which always ends on March 31. The four quarters in
fiscal 2011 end on July 4, 2010, October 3,
2010, January 2, 2011, and March 31, 2011,
respectively. The four quarters in fiscal 2010 ended on
June 28, 2009, September 27,
2009, December 27, 2009, and March 31, 2010,
respectively.
