Principles of Consolidation and Basis of Presentation
These Consolidated Financial Statements include the accounts of the Company and its wholly-owned subsidiaries. All significant intercompany transactions and balances have been eliminated in consolidation. The Consolidated Financial Statements have been prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles in the United States of America ("GAAP"). Certain prior year amounts have been reclassified for consistency with the current year presentation. Such reclassifications impacted the classification of general and administrative expenses and research and development expenses. These insignificant reclassifications had no effect on the reported results of operations, cash flows, or financial position.
Risks and uncertainties
Coronavirus ("COVID-19") continues to spread throughout the U.S. and the world and c ompliance with the various containment measures implemented by governmental authorities has impacted the Company's business, as well as the businesses of its customers, suppliers and other counterparties, and this impact could last for an indefinite period of time. There are no comparable recent events that provide guidance as to the effect of the spread of COVID-19 as a global pandemic, and a s a result, the Company is unable to predict the full impact COVID-19 will have on its results from operations, financial condition, liquidity and cash flows due to numerous uncertainties, including the duration and severity of the pandemic and containment measures .
